Dear Community Members,
Assalamu Alaikum,
It is with profound honor and privilege that I accept the trust you have placed in me to serve as the President of the Islamic Center of Central Pennsylvania. There is no greater responsibility or joy than serving the house of Allah and our cherished Islamic community.
Our mission is clear and paramount: to facilitate the practice of the principles and teachings of Islam, the greatest religion according to Sunnah. This includes but is not limited to, maintaining the unity of our community, fostering a spirit of inclusion, and celebrating our diversity.
Unity is our strength. In these times, it is essential that we stand together, support one another, and work collectively towards our common goals. Let us be reminded of the Prophet Muhammad’s (may Allah raise his rank and grant him peace) words: “The believers, in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy, are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever.”
Islam is a religion of peace, mercy, justice, and respect. It calls upon us to be kind, compassionate, and forgiving, and to do no harm. These principles should guide our actions and interactions, both within our community and beyond.
As we move forward, I encourage you all to take the initiative. If you see something wrong, something out of place, or an opportunity to contribute, do not hesitate to act. Your time, effort, and contributions, no matter how small, are invaluable.
Together, we can make our Islamic Center a beacon of hope, faith, and community for all. If you have any suggestions or ideas that could benefit our masjid, please do not hesitate to speak with us, use the suggestion box, or utilize the link we will provide from time to time.
May Allah bless us all with a year filled with peace, prosperity, and unity. May He guide us to what is right for the house of Allah and our community.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan for your support and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Nafea Alharbi, Ph. D., LPC (OH)
