السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Brother and Sisters,
We are pleased to announce that Eid al-Adha will be on Tuesday, 10/15 and the Eid prayer will be held in the Alumni Hall at the HUB-Robeson Center on campus in sha Allah at 8:30 am SHARP.
The hall is reserved ONLY FROM 7:30 AM TO 10:00AM. So please try to come as early as you can because you need some time to find a proper parking before you come to the hall. The takbeer will start as early as 7:30 am and continue until 8:30 am where Imam will start the prayer then the khutbah.
Please brothers and sister, try to share by providing hot drinks or cold beverages but please, DO NOT BRING ANY KIND OF FOOD.
Regarding parking, students can use the parking lots allocated to them by the university (lot 44 around the stadium) and faculty members, staff, and other employees of Penn State can use the parking deck adjacent to the HUB.
We also reserved the Penn Skate on High Tech Rd around the airport, for the kids to skate from 12:15 pm until 3:00.
Please, brothers and sisters, do not forget FASTING THE DAY OF ARAFAH on Monday 10/14 as instructed by Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him in many hadeeths, with the hope that Allah expiate the year before and the year after in sha Allah.
It is recommended for the Muslim to strive to do good deeds in these 10 days including:
fasting, prayer in time with the congregation, making takbeer and tahmeed and thikr, charity, reading Qur’an and seeking forgiveness, honoring one’s parents and the ties of kinship, maintaining the regular Sunnah prayers and the Eid prayer, remembrance of Allah following the prayers and slaughtering a qurban on the day of eid or the next 2 days.
I ask Allah to accept from all of you and I wish you all a happy Eid.
